Olde Worthington Farmers Market: May 26th

Honeyrun Farm from Williamsport, Ohio
You don't have to cook fancy or complicated masterpieces--just good food from fresh ingredients.

Julia Child

Need a reason to shop the Olde Worthington Farmers Market? How about five of them...

Know the origin of your food. The products you buy at the Olde Worthington Farmers Market travel less than 135 miles to arrive at market. Compare that to the national average of 1,500 miles for products sold in the grocery store.

Try something new. The Olde Worthington Farmers Market represents more than 15 different product categories including fresh flowers, body products, and artisan breads to name a few.

Support locally owned businesses. The Olde Worthington Farmers Market supports more than 70 vendors in business, employing more than 175 people each week.

Get to know your producer. You can ask questions and learn about the products you buy. How was the animal raised? What did the animal eat? When were the strawberries picked? What kind of flour is in the bread? (And chances are, you're asking the farmer or producer themselves.)

Fresh food is better for you. Fresh fruits and vegetables start to lose vitamins and nutrients as soon as they are harvested. Because most of the items you buy at the farmers' market are harvested hours before market, they have more of what we need most.

    1. Yes. There are several vendors offering gluten free items. I have never attended a market that didn't include these vendors.
