Happy New Year!
Like everyone else, we have a few resolutions of our own. It's probably no surprise that in 2014, we're committed to our food and diet. And no, we don't care if you copy us. In fact, we encourage it!
1. Try new things. It's easy to go to market and buy the same things every week. In 2014, buy at least one new thing each week. You might just be surprised how different things taste when they're fresh and local.
2. Get to know your food source. We always talk about knowing your food source, asking questions, etc. But do you? Do you ask your farmer why they grow Tennis Ball lettuce instead of Grandpa Admire's? You should! You'll learn more about your food and your farmer, and probably have fun while doing it.
3. Buy it at the market. There are lots of things that you can buy at the grocery store, and lots of those same things can also be purchased at the market. If the product can be purchased at the farmers market, then buy it at the farmers market. Support family farms and your local economy.
